Tiana Montella received her BS in psychology from Loyola University Chicago, where her capstone research culminated in a paper entitled Weight-Based Stereotypes and Hiring Decisions. During the summer between her undergraduate and graduate programs, she completed a human resources internship at the University. Her duties during that time included interviewing potential faculty members and extending offers of employment to selected candidates. Additionally, Tiana Montella conducted background checks, reviewed references, and led orientation for new hires.
With assistance from the General Motors Minority Scholarship Fund Endowment, Tiana Montella is studying for her MS in human resources at her alma mater. Moreover, she functions as an intern at Ketchum Change, where she tracks budgets, designs tools to measure the company’s consulting impact, and assists with generating requests for proposal. Further preparing for her career, she has established membership in the Human Resources Management Association of Chicago and the Human Resources Students’ Association.
